Yes I skied Chinese New Year week at Nanshan. 1hr north of beijing. Its ok for a couple of hours if you are desperate to ski. All man made on a hill. Good for beginners, two short runs for intermediates and 1 mogul run that I found hard! Very busy at holiday and weekends.
Equipement hire not what you would be used to in Europe and North America but they did change the boots and gave me a pair with front clips and I asked for longer skis. They dont ask anything about your weight or height. There again I think the only accident any experienced skier would have would be when the devil may care Chinese run straight into you! |

1. Huaibei Ski Resort, located in Jiugukou natural scenic spot, 70Km from Beijing, about 1hour driving by private car.
2. Shijinglong Ski Resort, located near longqingxia
3. Nanshan Ski Resort, located in the Miyun County about 80 Kilometers away from downtown Beijing.
4. Badaling Ski Resort, which is just finished last year, located in Yangqing County, some 70 km north of downtown Beijing.
i prefer Huaibei Ski resort. it is a ideal place with natural scenery and historical sites, a tranquil place far away from the skycrapers and cement of modern city. |
