Re:A Specific Hotel in Hangzhou-convenient for travelers? |

I have not personally stayed at the New Century but it is centrally located and like most 4 or 5 star hotels in the city it will be of a good standard,as taxis are so cheap ( 10rmb gets you 4 km ) .it will be no more than a ten minute taxi ride to the Wahaha disco..I visited myself a couple of times and the place was always packed, especially weekends,it is frequented mainly by Chinese with just a few western guys. The dance floor is packed they are literally bouncing of the walls most nights, beer is a little expensive (around 35rmb-40 rmb i recall) but the music is loud, the atmosphere good and it keeps going to the early hours. The disco is accessed via an elavator and that in istself is an experience since they seem to be going for the "how many can we get in an elevator" contest .
If you want a good hotel that is nearer to the place try the Continental hotel, should be about the same price as New Century and it is only about 500 mtrs walk to Wahaha.
You could also try Kana's pub on Nanshan road at the weekends which gets very busy until the early hours, but be warned..the place is dead during the week. Also on Nanshan road there are many (mainly Chinese) bars near the Art college. |
