Any tips about the food arts of Guilin? |
|
|
Hi,
I'm going to be in Guilin for a couple of days in next Aprilr, and I have a few leads, but only for the kinds of places that everybody knows about. Any tips? I've almost never seen a food article about Guilin despite Eat Drink Man Woman, and I'm certain that there are is outrageously good food to have--and bad. |

Guilin cuisine is a combination of Canton and Hunan. The Guilin cuisine is noted for its sweetness and use of spice and chili. The local food of Guilin has strong taste and the color is bright. Wild plants and animals are often found in Guilin dishes.
The most famous dishes include Stewed Clam Chicken and Steamed Mandarin Fish from Li River. The Guilin rice noodle, a local snack, is the residents' favorite. Rice noodle, gravy, fried peanuts or soybeans, chopped scallions and thin slices of different kinds of meat are added for different preparation forms of this renowned food. You are also strongly recommended to try the Dong Bamboo Shoot Meat, the Miao Bamboo Fish, and the Maonan Roast Pork. |
