Hi everyone,
I would like to ask for your help and your advice. This time I's like to tell you more about my situation.
I will stay in Hongkong with my husband and my baby in the end of Dec/05 for 2 nights 1 day before continuing our flight. I am accumulating hotels information via sources as”Frommer”, Frodor” and Hongkong tripadvisor forum. I have three hotels in mind: Park hotel, YMCA Salisbury and Kimberley hotel, interms of standard double room size and babysitting service ( so I can sneak out for a shopping trip during daytime and/or between 7 to 10pm)
Here is the information that I gather:
Park hotel: big size room, spacious for baby cot and parent’s bed, good for light-sleeper as me. But Park hotel is having renovation, might be very noisy and dusty.I emailed and no reply from them about room charge and babysitting charge.
Kimberley hotel: small size room, good location. They emailed me that they would charge HKD 210 for a minimum 3 hours, then each following hour HKD 70. The nett room rate is HKD 847.50 per night.
YMCA Salisbury hotel: decent size room, good location. Hotel do provide "baby sitting" service during day time and night time at HK$60.00 per hour (minmum order is 2 consecutive hours). Persons who do the "Baby Sitting" will normally be their room attendants and are reliable, according to them. In additional to the HK$60.00 hourly wage, lunch meals have also to be provided to the baby sitter (around HK$150.00 per meal) and additional HK$50.00 for transportation if the baby sitter need to take your baby after 23:00 p.m. . The nett room rate is HKD 880 per night if dealing directly with the hotel.
Which hotel should I choose? Are there any qualified childminding agency in Kowloon?
Where can I get the best hotel rates? Via hotel or via travel agent?
Thanks a lot for your time and I appreciate all the feedback.
