travel to Kunming from Maisai, Thailand by which traffic? |

I would like information on travel by land or boat from North Thailand ( Golden Triangle) to Kunming, China around Nov. 10. I am a US citizen and
married to a Lisu Hill Tribe lady who is a thai citizen. Would you
please give me a possible route or two and information about buses,
boats, costs and visas. Thanks, . Especialy want to know estimated costs and how many days of travel.and want to know how to get from Jing Hong to Kunming, bus or boat? and cost?

There are flights on Thursday & Sunday direct between Chiang Mai, Thailand & Kunming, China.
You will probaly have to produce return flight to the airline personnel before you leave Thailand.
Try THAI Airlines for durther details. There is a Chinese consulate in Chiang Mai. There is also a Thai consulate in Kunming.
Otherwise, considerate a raft or barge up the Mekong River in Laos. Ask in Chiang Mai for directions to Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province.
In any event, you will need to arrange a visa before being permitted into the People's Republic of China. |
