We would like to travel to China without being part of a tour group and interested a river cruise along the Yangtze River to see the three Gorges. Can someone direct me to a website where we can make our reservations.
Thanks |

we made the Yangtze cruise this summer and it was really really AMAZING!!! Our ship was the "Yangtze Princess". It was really nice and has 4 stars (don't go with a ship under 4 stars! We saw ships with 5 stars ..try to get one of these..wonderful ships..and I assume they aren't so expensive). The tour was great, as we saw the Three Gorges and the giant Yangtze Dam. We visited China in a group and booked our tour completely with the help of a travel agent at home. We had an American couple on board, so the ship has to be not only for groups. The tour took 4,5 days. |

Can the Three Gorges still be seen? |

Can the Three Gorges still be seen? Haven't they started to fill up the dam yet? I would say that travelling with the normal boats with mostly Chinese passengers has its charm too. On my voyage in 1994 a French couple and I were the only foreigners, and most of the 3rd., 4th. and 5th class passengers used the ship as a local transport. |

Yes, the 3 Gorges can still be seen (sent you an Email).
Well, yes, I can imagine that a normal boat also has a charme of its own!!!! It's the curse of pre-booked group travelling that you never get the chance to do "unusual" things |
