which place is best to stay for a frugal traveller |
|
|
right now im staying for two months in Dalian to study chinese, at the end of september i will leave dalian and go to shangahi, for one and a half week.
now i have a few questions,
which place is best to stay if you dont want to spend to much money, i heard about the consevatory of music guesthouse and i last year was in a nice hotel near pudong which was quiet cheap. how much time in advance i have to reserve for the guesthouse??
does shangahi have a bar street like sanlitun in beijing, where you just can have a party the whole night, meet other travelers, because i really need to speak englisch or german to some western people and get drunk.
and i don not know if it is legal to ask this question, but is it possible to buy pot there, and if yes, how dangerous is it and what is the price.
which cultural places must be visited, which not? i think shanghai must have plenty of interesting museums and art exhibitions, but i do not know which are good.
how difficult is it, to organize short trips to hangzhou and suzhou, is it difficult to buy train tickets if your chinese is not to fluent.
what else...??
i do not know, maybe i ask later |

Xintiandi is just like Sanlitun. Also, Hengshan Road is a nice choice.
Pot? I heard some Muslems try to sell it to foreingers on Zhejiang Rd.
Dangerous? Like everywhere else in the world. My suggestion: quit!
Trip to HZ and SZ: They are very close to Shanghai. SZ is 1 hour and HZ is 1.5 hour (train). Just buy the tickets and go there yourself.
Hotel: visit ctrip.com and find yourself a nice one

My good buddy in Dalian (for the last 18 months) goes walking into the surrounding hills and fills his backpack with the local weed.
From what he says, it's OK.
Head out and walk around... and bring your own to Shanghai - probably safer... and cheaper. |
