TRAVEL FROM GUILIN/YANGSHUO TO WANXIAN |

I would like to know how can I travel from guilin to wanxian, because I would want to take a ship for seeing the yangzi river.
Another question, Can I take a ship from Wanxian to Yichang? All cruises I had see are from Chongqing to Yichang, it is a long trip, I only want to see the three gorges which are from Wanxian to Yichang. Do you know the name of the ship that does this itinerary and the dates?

You can not take the boat from Wanxian. All the cruise ships starts from Chongqing or Yichang.
You can fly or take a train to Chongqing from Guilin than take the cruise at Wanxian. Besides Wanxian is just half day journey from Chongqing so I guess it will not metter.

First thank you very much, there is not a lot of tiime from Chongqing to wanwian, but I can not find a train from Guilin to Chongqing, I have only finded flyes.

This may be too late for you. There is no date for your intended travel in China.
Yangtse Cruise from Wanzhou (Wanxian) by hydrofoil takes 5/6 hours to Yichang and is a quick and comfortable way to see the gorges. Just did Badong to Wanzhou instead of bus travel in the area this summer (August 2005) myself. Sorry I cannot give you more details now on times and costs but it is reasonable price and several cruising times each day all in daylight hours.
Bus from Chongqing to Wanzhou is 4 hours Y100 approx
You'll have to take a train from Guilin to Guiyang (Kunming Line) and change for Chongqing. This is the most convenient way apart from flying. |
