I am planning a tour to Kanas with my friend and I think we should get the places at the best time of the year, can any one tell me what is the best time to tour Kanas? what is the best clothes and weather tidings should be appreciated. |

September is the really good time to take a tour the whole Xinjiang so I think is also the best time of year to tour kanas,you don't worry about the weather it is not too cold should be about ten cilcy digree.

kamal is right once I was in Xinjiang and I tell you my tour :I read that there's an overnight bus to Burqin and that I'll have to take a taxi or minibus to Kanas Lake from there.. but I'm more interested in driving to Hemu Village, staying overnight
Yes, there's a sleeper bus to Buerqin and then it's shared taxi to Kanas. You are unlikely to get straight to Hemu unless you pay a guide for a custom tour (which will cost $$$). To get to Hemu from Kanas will cost about 300Y by taxi but you should be able to do a horsetrek for less (don't know price as I didn't go to Hemu).
It will be a bit cold in September if the sun isn't shining, but should be ok if it's sunny. It will be very cold at night. The weather around Kanas is very changeable, much more so than the rest of Xinjiang. |
