visa extension fora a trip from Beijing to Hongkong |
|

I'm currently studying Chinese in Beijing. I'm on a student Visa which is good until mid September, however I'd like to extend my visa by 3 months if possible. My course finishes at the end of August, so it might not be possible to extend my student status, but I'd be fine with just a tourist visa. However, since I'm in Beijing traveling to Hong Kong just to extend my visa would be a real pain. I know I can get a one-time, one-month extension here for not too much, maybe 150-200 kuai, and I've heard that I can "illegally" get a 3-month extension for roughly 1,000 kuai if I go to the right travel agent. Does anyone know of another method either in Beijing or Shanghai (where I'll be living this fall) that could allow me to extend my visa an extra 3 months, or could recommend a reliable "agent" that wouldn't take my passport and run?
Thank you for any advice! |
