Hey,
Is anyone traveling in China, particularly in the Sichuan province at the moment? I was planning on traveling to China and through Chendu on my way to Tibet in late September/early October. I haven't booked my flight yet as the outbreak caught me a little off guard and the relectuance of the Chinese government to share any information about the "real" situation is a little scary.
I Was wondering if there were any travelers out there who could share some insight from within the country/region and give their opinions about the situation? Any information is appreciated! |

I don't think it is a change-your-travel-plans type of problem at this time.
but if u going to know sth about china or religion I say that there a lot of region as islam ,christian ,budda....
food of china is various .if go to xinjiang you can eat very delicious foods and most of them are muslim ,other places the chiese eat pork........i think it is difficult to sum up china with one word come and you can study also have relax during your tour...
have a good trip |

I'm guessing that this is what you are talking about.
I'm working in Chongqing not far south of the affected area and no one here seems too concerned. There's a reasonable media coverage here but nothing like SARS. Here for that too.
Just don't eat too much meat and especially pork.
No need to change your travel plans as you were probably not likely to visit the areas concerned anyway. |
