the current entry fees into Beijing's top attractions |

hi
I'm trying to work out a budget for Beijing.
would like to find out the current entry fees into Beijing's top attractions (forbidden palace, temple of heaven, great wall at jinshanling & simatai, beihei park, summer palace etc)
also, has anyone stayed overnight in Jinshangling and recommend a budget-midrange guesthouse? am not too keen to stay in the watchtower.
thanks |

I don't remember all the details but my LP says 40Y for the Forbidden City and 40-50Y for the Summer Palace (depending on whether you go to Souzhou St as well); Beihai Park 4Y; Jingshan Park 2Y.
If you take the hostel tour to Jinshanling/Simatai it will cost you 90Y for transport only. Entry at Jinshanling is 30Y, then you pay another 30Y half way along to enter the Simitai section and 5Y to cross the bridge at Simitai. Chairlifts are extra but I didn't see how much they cost (didn't use them).

If you are student, take your ISIC with you...you usually get 50% discount. Forbidden City is now 40 juan (20 with ISIC), Summer palace - basic entrance fee 30 (15) + extra entrance fee to some places like Souzhou st., Jinshanling/Simatai - transport (see http://www.travelcompass.cn/default.htm) usually 90pp + 30 (jinshangling) + 30 (simaitai) + 5 (bridge), hostel in Simaitai pretty expensive (cca 180 pp). |
