Tour help - Beijing, X'ian, Three Gorges, Tibet - October |
|
|
I am a lone female traveller looking for a tour agency that isn't too pricey - I was just about to book Intrepid's tour taking in the above sites but in my umm'ing and ahh'ing whether or not I should, it's become fully booked - can anyone reccommend any other tour companies out there.
I would go it solo but I'm a lone female traveller and it'll be my first country on the map - tad freaked about going it alone immediately.
Please Help! |

I did go to China by myself several years ago and had no problems. In one city I managed to meet some kindly tourists who invited me along with them and their private tour guide. The tour guide was quite good (after filtering out the propaganda) and I probably learned more by joining them than I could have by myself. Given this experience, if I go back to China I would probably hire a tour guide in each place if I want one but travel from place to place by myself. If you stay in female dorm rooms in hostels you will also meet lots of other female travellers and it is easy to to join up with such fellow travellers to tour the location together and perhaps travel together. Another alternative would be to go on tour for some of the time but not the whole journey through China, this way you can get your feet wet travelling alone there.
you cn write to info@muztagh.com to invite tourguide or consult abour tour |

you could try imaginative traveller www.imtrav.co.uk they are similar to intrepid, or get to www.geckosadventures.com. Both these have more budget trips- still a whole lot more expensive than travelling on your own but using local transport staying in cheap accomodation so they are not too bad. I would agree that it would be a good plan to do a trip for your first country and you can then work out whether next time you would feel happy going it alone or not. |
