I'm travelling by jeep from Lhasa to Katmandu in May on a basic tour. I don't want to take a sleeping bag. Tour company say it is optional but recommended for the monastry near Everest Base Camp. But that's only one night. So two questions:1) Has anyone done a trip like this without a sleeping bag and lived to tell the tale? 2) Would a space blanket be an acceptable alternative to a sleeping bag?All or any advice gratefully accepted.Good travelling everyone. Thanks all.

Personally, I think a sleeping bag is necessary. Especially, for the base camp, it's still very cold at May. I'm not sure if you can stand the strong smell that the carpet they provide to you. So, you'd better bring a sleeping bag yourself. And what do you mean for a space blanket? sorry for my poor English.

Since you go with a tour agency, everything should be fine generally.
