Extending transit visa in China tour |
|
|
Hi,
Is there any chance I can extend a transit visa while in China? If so, would Kashgar be an option to do so? If not, is it possible to get a normal tourist visa while in China? If not, what is the risk of overstaying my transit visa for a week or two?
Thanks a lot for the information! |

If you land at an International airport/ border crossing in China and have proof of onward travel out of the country within 24 hours, then you MAY be granted a transit visa. This is little more than a receipt for your passport that you must surrender in exchange for the transit visa. If you fail to collect your passport the next day, you will be classed as an alien in a foreign country and likely be arrested.
If you have a bona fide visa to stay in China and overstay its permissable length of stay, then the fine is 500 yuan per day.
You will not be allowed to enter China without a visa so make prior arrangements |
