Hi there folksAnyone been up the Chinese side of the Karakoram yet this year please? If so, what's the road like? Any other up to date information on Kashgar also welcome. Xie Xie |

I was there last Octomber! We went to Tashkurgan from Kashgar. The road was mostly tarmacked road or bumpy travel road, with sections heavily damaged by landslides, which our driver addressed it is common in July and August. I remembered there was one section which was hard and the rest were all ok. |

Hi there. Yes, the road was quite decent last October - much better than the year before! I will be up there the first or second week of May, will let you know direct if you want and it isn't too late.One of my favourites in China!! Safe journeys.Legs - as in ancient! |
