Hi, I am planning a trip to Hong this summer and I am leaving myself a week to travel to mainland China. But I'm not quite sure what would be the best trip given my situation. Does anyone have any ideas on a nice experience in mainland China for one week from Hong kong?
oh ya and I would prefer not to join a tour group and keep the trip inexspensive. Thanks for any responses.  |

I would suggest flying to Shanghai and spending the week in and around it. A very nice city to visit and would also be able to ride the MegLev Train which travels at 430km/hr. You could also visit Suzhou (visit the old city and the new High Tech Park) and Hangzhou (West Lake, etc.). You could take the train to Suzhou & Hangzhou from Shanghai.  |
