Hi,
I have in mind going by train from Urumqi to Almaty in september. There are only two trains per week. Do you know, if the trains are often fully booked? Is it possible to get a ticket for four persons, when I buy it in Beijing aprox. 5 days before the departure. Or, how many days before departure can I buy the tickets? And what´s the price for it?

It not so difficult as you think,you can buy it in one week in advance,it is possible,you contact with some travel agencies that they will buy you the ticket such as muztagh travel agincy,you can wite to ilham@muztagh.net.
I don't know the price but the train should be k895 I remember.
