Anji bamboo forests:well worth of a visit? |
|
|
I keep hearing more and more about the bamboo forests in Anji, near Hangzhou.
I know now it's a one hour drive from Hangzhou to Anji, but what can you do when you arrive at Dazhuhai? Is there a map with walking trails, can you stay overnight, how about restaurants, ... ?
Any information is much appreciated.

I don't know if one hour drive can get you from Hangzhou to Anji. According to the website information, it takes about 4 hours from Hangzhou to Anji bamboo forest by bus. Usually people go early in the morning and arrive at Bamboo forest at noon. As for accommodation, you may choose hostels managed by the locals. Rooms are cheap and clean, no more than 50yuan per day.

Hi there,
I think I've been to this Bamboo Forest close to Hangzhou. But it took us only half an hour by public bus. It is behind these Longjing tea plantations, is it correct?
Entry fee was 5 kuai, but I can't read the Chinese writing on my entry ticket anymore...but it must be the only Bamboo forest in this surrounding.
It is quite nice, but should be only part of a little hiking trip through these mountains. Because there are well developed trails throgh the beautiful woods and tea plantations.
I enjoyed it very much!
The picture shows my friend on the ridge of a plantation. Trails like this lead throughout these mountains.... |
