Ok I'm spending a month in China and I haven't been there before. I (we, there's 4 of us) can fly from Vancouver BC to Hong Kong for about $2500 less than going to Shanghai. However if I want to fly directly from Hong Kong to Shanghai it will cost me $1000. That still puts us in pretty good shape considering we saved $1500 over flying direct to Shanghai.
Now here's the part I don't get. Shenzhen airport is about an hour away I think. We can fly from Shenzhen to Shanghai for about $190.
Am I missing something? $800 savings for a couple hours of my time is nothing to sneeze at. Has anyone done this?
