Didn't spend much time here, came straight to Beijing to visit my dad working

there, then just a few days ago got a train to Nanning where I'm about to leave from tomorrow. Just sort of reflecting on my time here, and I have to say that it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. I guess I'm sort of spoiled from places like Thailand, more and more I see Thailand is really a rarity in the world, in both its paradise , but China just didn't live up to my preconceived ideas about it. Maybe it's because I was in Beijing most of the time ; but it was smoggy, unfriendly and expensive.

It seemed to be rich in taste and very expensive, even more so than in the West at times.


And its so crowded, at all times of day, every bus and subway car full of coughing Chinese, and certainly not what I think of it, but I am serious rethinking ever staying on long term here, as I once had.


I guess I feel like China has all the worst warts of Asia, and too few of it's sweet spots. My question is why does anyone stay here who has other options? Am I drawing too hastey a conclusion?

I suggest you that chinese rural may be the good choise,i don't like beijing either because of it's very crowded. And guilin should be seen .
