Hi Bromfield, i recommen you several places to go
1- silk road , especially xinjiang autonomy region (uyghur is one of the turkish people), you can go to hotan kashkar or urmqi ,you can enjoy really fun there , food singing dansing i love it.

2-shanghai's night life , so morden and cool

3- yunan province , i like the cimate there thaat would be a great choice too
