How to cancell a resident permit? |
|
|
I am workin' in a Chinese company which has supplied me with a residence permit. I signed a contract and i have 9 months to go on my permit but i want out because of the treatment Im getting. Only problem is that if I leave I will loose my permit and cant get a F-visa until this expires. (I have done this in the past with no prob as an Australian citizen).
Any ideas? I've heard that at the Chinese consulate in HK I can apply for a tourist visa and this will cancel my current visa. Is this true? Will they require a release letter from my current company because I doubt they will give me one. |

In the past, the visa application had an address in china, I just put "Hotels" with no detail. They also wanted expected first entry date. But they did not require ticket or reservations when I applied last year, and the year before that.
Maybe they are getting stricter because they are concern about the Olympics?

Thanks for the info. I am French. I am being told the stricter rules have come in because of the Olympics but also because of the problems in Europe with the Olympic torch. So anyways, the youth hostel sounds a good idea, I'll try and find one . |
