i am planning to visit china for 4-6 weeks in september 2008.

I will spend a week or so in beijing, but hope to go away from the cities for a bit too.

what sort of prices are the cheapest hostel rooms?
the prices i have seen range from £3 to £20 a night.
(100 cny = £7, £1 = 14 cny)

is this accurate?

\I am trying to work out how much i would need for a month in china, with basic accomodation and cheap food.
