focus on nature from Shanghai to Beijing |
|
|
Hi
my wife and I are off to China in April. First time - very exciting! We're flying in to Shanghai and out of Beijing (two weeks later) and apart from a few days in each we are hoping to spend some time exploring sights around the two cities and/or in between.
We are particularly interested in nature and are hoping to take in some scenic areas, away from city life, perhaps a river boat trip and a couple of walks.
Haven't purchased the lonely planet guide book yet, so am completely clueless as to what lies between and around the two cities and wether to go along the coast or make a loop inland. I hope we'll be able to travel at least part of the distance by train (as opposed to by bus), but am not sure where they run and how it will fit with the pit stop wish list.
Grateful for any advice! |

The impressive nature is usually overtouristed or inconvenient to get to. There are a few exceptions. Jiuzhaigou, Huangshan, Taishan and Yangshuo would be top picks for natural scenery. And Chengde has a big park and nice temples.
enjoy your trip. |
