1 night in Suzhou-good idea for travelers |

I will be in Shanghai next week and intending to spend one night in Suzhou. Planning to visit the man in the net garden, Humble Administrator garden and tiger hill on the day I arrive. On the next day, planning to visit Zhouzhuang and then catch a bus directly back to Shanghai.Any ideas on buses to Suzhou from Shanghai and then bus from Suzhou to Zhouzhuang and Zhouzhuang to Shanghai. Information would be appreciated.
Also how do one get around in Suzhou itself? Are taxis easy to find and are they honest?

It's easy to get from Shanghai to Suzhou. I suggest you take morning train to Suzhou. Then use taxi to visit the sites. The taxi is clean and hoest. The next day you'd better take a taxi to Zhouzhuang one way only at the cost of USD30. You can also take the public bus at the square of the railway station. It takes too much time for you. You ask the taxi driver drop you at the bus station for Shanghai. You check the departure time and buy the bus ticket and then walk 0.5 mile to the gate of Zhouzhuang. Have a nice trip.

Hi, Roy!You can take the special tourism line back to Shanghai from Zhouzhuang. It will take anout one and a half hours. And the bus sets out at 9：00 am and 12:50 am, 14:00 pm and 16:00 pm.From Suzhou to Zhouzhuang by tourism bus, you will spend about one hour and RMB15. By Taxi, it will take about 30-45minutes and RMB150. Yes, you can bargain with the Taxi driver to the acceptable price.Have a nice trip! |
