Getting from the border to Shenzhen airport |
|
|
I'm back in Hong Kong for a couple of weeks. Slowly.
Anyway I'm planning a quick trip to Harbin. I was going to do the Hard Sleeper to Beijing to start with at a cost of about Y600 odd. But after reading a couple of posts on travel forums in different websites I knew one way flights from Shenzhen to Beijing for Y700.
I was thinking of booking an afternoon flight, say 1pm .
My query is how long will it take from the border to Shenzhen airport.
Is there a bus direct to the airport from the border?
I've done the border crossing a few times, but have always gone straight to Guangzhou overland.
Also the website talks about ticket delivery city. I asumed it's an e-ticket or do I have to pick up the ticket somewhere? Is that just an incredibly anal question?
Is it safe to assume that I can arrange an onward flight to Harbin once I get to Beijing for the following day as I understand that it won't be possible to book a train ticket at such short notice.
Sorry if I've rambled, but I've never been to China before for such a short time.
I usually take at least 2-3 months and just go with the flow.
Thanks in advance for your time and any info

From Tsim Sha Tsui, I would leave myself around 2 1/2 hours to get to Shenzhen airport. It's 45 minutes on the train to get to Lo Wu, then you have immigration, then another 45-60 minutes on a bus to the airport.
There are also the ferries from China HK City in TST to nearby Shenzhen airport. That would be a quicker, less stressful, but more expensive route. |

There is a bus from any Lo Wu Checkpoint to airport, as my friend told me, it costs around RMB 20 and takes about 1 hour.
I had tried to take taxi. It was RMB 150 and took around 50 mins with little bit traffic jam but we waited 20 mins for taxi. |
