Best place to get visa for mainland china? |
|
|
dear all,
I heard there is a place in Wan Chai..chinese government office...that does the best rates on visas. I am a Brit. How much should I expect to pay for a single entry visa or a multiple entry visa? And....how do I find this place?
Many thanks. Last week I got a single entry visa (within 24 hrs) from the China Travel Service and had to pay 700HKD. It seemed a bit much. |

Note that holders of UK and many other passports pay more: scroll down for the detailed schedule. This is true whether you apply at the Visa Office or through an agency.
At the Visa Office, the charge would have been HK$600 for your single entry visa (UK passport single entry HK$450 plus HK$150 for next-day service). So you paid HK$100 more going through CTS, but you avoided what can be an hour or more wait at the visa office.
And you didn't have to search all Wanchai for the Visa Office. (It's in the China Resources Building, which is out on the Wanchai Reclamation, near the Wanchai Ferry Terminal.) |
