dear all:

I am going to Beijing late Jane 08 for 10 days. Having done a bit of research on the idea of skiing at some of the resorts near Beijing, I was just wondering if anyone here had actually been or knew of some great (but preferably cheap) places to rent the equipment and ski?

We are backpacking through Asia so cannot justify buying ski equipment to use for only a few days!

Also, I realise that we are arriving just after Chinese New Year but are we going to have a problem with businesses not being open? I read (somewhere on the vast internet) that some places close for a week.

Any help would be gratefully received.

According to my friends, there are some skiing centres around Beijing..about 1-2 hrs form Beijing city.Afew seems to be near Great Wall.
Many travel agents also offer skiing package for the tourists.

Understand Yablonu Skiing is biggest indoor skiing loated in Chaoyoung Park.
