Booked a week in Hong Kong for july next year for our 30th Wedding Anniversary!
What I would like to know is how much spending money would we need for a week, we have paid for accommodation, breakfast, so really just for lunch (snack) and evening meal (not posh restaurants), travelling we are staying at Harbour Plaza Hotel, North Point, so I guess would need the MTR everyday etc,
I have heard of the Octopus card, can we both use the 1 one card, or do we need one each? What are the basics like buying tea or coffee? If you could tell me some prices in Hong Kong Dollars I would be very grateful,

hi................
You can spend as much or as little as you want for a week in Hong Kong. Think of how much you would budget for a week's holiday in Sydney or Melbourne, it will be fairly close.
You'll need two cards for the MTR. The cards just make it easier to use and MTR travel although crowded is very cheap.
Ditto travel on mini buses, trams or normal buses. Taxis aren't expensive either.
So getting around won't cost you.
