Charklik / Ruoqiang to Golmud |

I am on my way to Golmud from Kashgar via Charklik / Ruoqiang in eastern Xinjiang.
I have been told by several people here that this route is impossible to take right now, particularly the section from Shimiankuang to Huatugou in Qinghai.
Has anyone passed that way recently who can report on its condition? As an addendum, has anyone recently purchased a train ticket to Lhasa at Golmud without need for a permit?
A CITS woman in Kashgar told me it takes 10 days to get a permit there. Thanks. |

It should be fairly easy to get a trainticket from Golmud to Lhasa without a permit.
Try buying it yourself, if no luck I'm pretty sure theres some chinese around who would be happy to help you with that . |
