I just tried to get a China visa in Macau. There are only two places you can get one. China Travel service or the Chinese embassy there. A 3 month 'L' single entry China visa is 1,200HK dollars. You can only apply for it at 9:00A.M on 'certain' mornings at the China Travel Service in Macau because of their so-called holidays. Even then, then didn't seem to be to interested in wanting to help me get one. The Chinese Embassy in Macau which is within walking distance may or may not be a good choice unless you plan to be in Macau for a few days waiting for it to be processed. You definetely can 'Not' get a China visa at the border crossing of Zuhai & Macau. I recommend getting one in Hong Kong for a $1,500HKD and only waiting for three or four hours at the China Travel Service in Kowloon.
