Look for family hotel rooms in Beijing & Shanghai for a |

We are Chinese Americans travelling to China for the
first time with 2 teenagers. Is it possible to get 4
or 5 star hotel rooms in Beijing and Shanghai that
will accommodate a family of 4? We have been told by
travel agents that there is a maximum of 3 in each
room. As they are quoting us rates of $150-200/night
per room, this becomes quite pricey. Chinese friends
have also told me these rates are quite high. I had
been under the impression that hotel rates range less
than $100/night, so are we being taken for a ride
because we are American? Any suggestions would be appreciated |

In Beijing check out the "Prime Hotel" at 2 Wangfuljing.
Its a 4-star and has the largest hotel rooms (42 sq.m.).
It is conveniently located in the "downtown." PN-H
reports that it has been refurbished. Rates should be
under $100.even for the larger "deluxe" rooms. You
may have to negotiate for the extra bed at no charge. |
