is Baoshan/Tengchong worth of a tour? |

Has anyone travelled to the Baoshan region of Yunnan? I was wondering if Baoshan and Tengchong would be good places to visit, rather than tracking al the way down to Jinghong for a few days on the way back form Lijang. Any advice would be appreciated. |

Jinghong is not the 30 hour busride from Dali stated in the LP. It took about 18 hours and most of this was overnight on a sleeper bus (got more sleep on it than any other in China). Jinghong to Kunming is also several hours less than what is stated in the LP. The landscape, people and culture in Xishuangbanna are unique in China and I'd definitely recommend a trip. Water Splashing festival is coming up and is just fantastic! |
