Shanghai or Hongkong to finish travelling in China |
|
|
Hello!
I have the choice either to leave China via Hong Kong or Shanghai in May.
Which city would you recommend (concerning: sights, shopping and cheap accomodations)?
When is the crowded holiday season in China- when it is difficult to travel?
Which is a centrally located and really cheap (dorm) hostel in Shanghai (recommendation- and prize)?
I would like to travel into Shanghai with a ship- starting at which destination (Wuhan or Suzou- how long, how often)?
Which area is the best to stay in Shanghai?
What are must see Sights in Shanghai?
Is it a good idea to book a city tour for Shanghai- how much?
Thanks for every information |

Sounds like you have your heart set on Shanghai.
Shopping: Hong Kong, cant say for certain but thats what absolutley everyone says.
Reaonable accom can be found in both places
Holiday season: February mainly, amongst others.
Hostel:Captains (Fuzhou Lu) 60rmb. On the Bund (doesnt get any more central than that).Maggies on Tianshan lu right beside Zhongshan xi lu, 50 rmb a night, a few miles inland of the bund. Both are great, personally I prefer Maggies because the staff there are cool.
best area: dont really know.
Sights: really up to you.
Tour: again, its one of things thats down to your own prefrences, don't be intimidated by Shanghai's size, its pretty easy to navigate.
Bare in mind that Shanghai will be quite cold in Jan, Hong Kong won't be. Though if you're like me, then thats a good thing. |
