What can I eat in China? |
|
|
1. Are there any specific dumplings that are made completely without wheat flour?
2. Anyone knows a name for porridge and some kind of buns that dont have wheat in them?
3. The soy buns or cakes or whatever they are called, what are they exactly made of?
4. What are the sauces generally thickened with?
The reason for these questions is that I am allergic to gluten (found in wheat, oat, barley and rye) and will soon be travelling in China for a month. I can have soy flour (but not soy sauce), buckwheat etc. but not even the smallest amount of wheat, oat, barley or rye.
If you have any suggestions for street food / snacks other than rice and rice noodles I would be more than grateful!! |

maybe you could go to a local chinese restaurant, to ask some information on what ingredients they use and maybe you could try to make a list of dishes that you could safely eat.
it could be a very big problem since some chinese people seem to think they know what is best for you, even if you tell them you are allergic to some things.
anyways good luck |
