International phone card in Beijing/Xian/Shanghai |
|

Hi, I will be travelling around Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai for a couple of weeks at the end of March. I would like to stay intouch with people back home in Australia.
Do you know if there are any good/affordable phone cards around, that are useable from public phones?
If not what would be one of the cheapest ways to speak with home?
Thanks in advance. |

there are plenty around - you will see big signs saying 'IP' as little roadside stalls and kiosks. i think that they only work in the city you buy them in though so make sure you use it all up before you leave that place. they are usually around half the face value of the card. a 100 rmb card that i pay 45rmb for buys me roughly 40 minutes of talk time to australia, sometimes a little more. |
