Can anyone give me an idea about tailoring in Beijing?
I live in Tokyo and am coming to Beijing for a week at the end of March. I'd like to know a couple of things. Firstly rough estimate of prices to have things made, how quickly can you get clothes made? Does anyone have recommendations for a good tailor in Beijing?

Any and all advice much appreciated.

I've gotten a couple suits made at Ya-shou market, near sanlitun. Go to the back of the fourth floor, and either go to Alice or "great tailor" next door (I think that's the name, something cheezy). Suits at about 1100 RMB. Good fabric, decent tailoring. I'm happy but not thrilled....bargain your but off. Incidently, they do have some good looking neck ties there that go for only 10RMB (don't pay more than that). If you want shirts made, then I definetly reccomend Alice. The dress shirts I got there rock 130RMB.

These are not amazing deals, honestly, but I'm sure it's better than you can get in Japan.
