Are tourists in china allowed to import or buy their own motorbikes or cars for travel in china? |

Yes, China allows foreigners drive motorvehicles for tourism or competition purposes, and the time limits for temporary entry are three months. As far as i know, the course of application will be very complicated, let's say it will take at least 3 months for both prepareing the materials and applying for a series of permits. |

Buying a motorcycle in China |

Can anyone recommend me on buying a motorcycle in China.
I have already a Chinese drivers license.
Is registration a major problem? I have heard that clever bike shops register even big bikes in Hebei province. But with a number from somewhere else you cannot enter certain cities, I guess. Not sure what paperwork is necessary - third party insurance etc.
Any suggestions what kind of bike is advisable for long-distance touring - low chance for thieves, low attraction for the police, good handling when someone cuts the lane ..... |
