advice on overland trip from Shenzhen-Dali - Lhasa |

Hi everyone,
I'm going to travel from Shenzhen to Dali and to Lhasa after that. Can anyone advise me on this itinerary? I've been reading LP and they say it's almost impossible to cover Dali-Lhasa by land, and I'm not really willing to go to north China.
Any questions/ comments/advise welcome and thanks in advance. If anyone wants to do the same trip> I leave Schenzhen 6-7 May.

To travel overland from Yunnan to Tibet (Lhasa) will require obtaining a permit, the hire of a Toyota Land Cruiser, and taking a guide along. Quite expensive. You can fly from Zhongdian to Lhasa. |
