Hello all.

I am after some advice on obtaining a Chinese embassy for my girlfriend and I before our forthcoming trip. We are both British living in the u.k.

We are travelling to Japan before going into China and wandered if we can obtain our Chinese visa in Japan and if so does this cause any problems?

As we are going to Japan first we won't be arriving in China for two and half months. Does the visa for China run out 3 months from issue or do you simply have to start using it within three months?

any help would be much appreciated.

last thing I heard, you can get the Chinese visa in Tokyo - but they only give you 30 days, which you can then renew by another 30 days in China... (possibly more - I'm trying to work this one out myself)

I am pretty sure it starts from date of entry, not date of issue...

I haven't actually tried this, so sorry to be a bit vague...
