Beijing Hostel comfrotable for travellers in Beijing |
|
|
On the count-down.....starting my trip three weeks today! I'm flying into Beijing mid-March, and saw an advert from 'Downtown Backpackers' Hostel. They reckon they'll pick you up from the airport. Anyone stayed there before? Is the airport offer legit? Is the hostel in a good location for nightlife and the attractions? Fun? On a side, anyone done their one-day trip to the Great Wall? How was it? $11 sounds ok to me.
Cheers very much |

Never been in that hotel, but seems ok to me. I´m going to Beijing in the beginning of July and keeping that same hostel as an option. You have probably checked sites like www.hostels.com or www.hostelworld.com. Both sites give fairly good ratings for that place. Of course, this doesn´t tell the whole truth since owners can rate their own hostels. Anyway, whatever hostel you choose it would be nice to hear how was it. So if you remember/ got time after your trip, write a recommendation .
Last time I was in Beijing we asked our guide (included the cheap price of the hotel) to take us that point of the Wall which was not reconstructed. We drove about one hour and ended up to a small village right next to the Wall. It was excellent. No other tourists or people selling any cheesy souvenirs. Unfortunately I got no idea about the name of the village, but I guess there are quite many places like that. In China they know better....
Have a nice journey |
