I am planning to visit Beijing, Xian and Guilin/Yangshou in June. Does anyone have any comments on the number of days I should spend at each?
1) - Beijing - 5.5 days (arrive at midday - then spend the afternoon and next 5 days sight seeing, take evening train to Xian)
2) Xian - 4 days (and 4 nights)
3) Guilin/Yangshou - 4-5 days (arrive in the morning and wander aroudn Guilin - go to Yangshou in the afternoon find accomodation - spend 4 nights and 3 days in yangshou and then back to guilin spend the day travelling and fly out to HK in the evening)
Does this sound reasonable or should I spend more or less time somewhere else?
Thanks for any advice! |

Your programme looks good for a "first timer" however time in Xian is too long. also when considering Yunnan, Dali, Lijiang etc i would leave that for a future 14 day trip. Perhaps for now you could cut Xian by a day and add it to either Beijing or Yangshou. As a history buff I prefer extra day in Beijing. 1 to visit T'Square, Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven, 1 to visit the Summer Palace, 1 to visit the great Wall at Simitai... Please dont go to Badaling!!!. 1 to visit the silk or copy market and finally 1 to veg out and enjoy yourself or visit plenty that I have missed. Yangshou is a GREAT place to completely veg out, relax and enjoy yourself so your time there is enough.
Have fun. |
