Huangshan questions |

What's it like to walk at Huangshan (once you leave the cable cars)?
- How far are the different sights from the hotels?
- Are the roads/paths easy/difficult/dangerous to walk on?
- Is there some transportation, or do you have to walk everything?
I really really like to go there, but I'm travelling with a 3- year old and a husband with bad knees.
They both had no trouble walking the Wall on the 'up and down but not too steep' sections for 2 hours.
What do you think, should we do it? |

If you stay at the hotel at the North Sea you will have fairly easy access to many of the better sights and views. Some of the best are literally just a few hundred metres from the hotel. It is also possible to hire porters to carry people who can't walk themselves. They go for around 600 yuan a day, I was told. Some of the pathways are very easy to walk on, whereas others are quite difficult climbs that someone with a weak knee probably will have problems with. Some of the sights and viewpoints are far from any accomodation, whereas others, as I said, are close to the hotels at North and West seas. |
