going to china...... |

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if some people would answer a few questions of my own as i am travelling to china later this year probably around september.
I was wondering how much i should expect to spend in china each day (preferably in Australian dollar or the chinese rmb,) what i should see, what i should avoid and where i should stay. Also my friends may be 16 or 17 and was also wondering if this would be a problem when they travel ( i will only be 18 myself.) At the moment my knowledge is rather remote only knowing the lonely planet recommendations but would appreciate confirmation on its recommendations and further advice not provided.
I am interested in the chinese food, an active holiday seeing the sights and hopefully experiencing the chinese way of life. I am intersted in the present and the historic culture hoping to see both. I will be traveveling for at least on month in china but this may change depending upon what you all say.
I would love for you to respond,
kindest regards |

Interesting, but just an inexpensive place of 60 rmb a night will be 1800 a month and with traveling around you won't find this rate in every city. My guess is that with everything included except the initial flight cost into China, you will be more like 200 to 250 rmb each day at the least, near 6000 rmb for a month. And that is if you keep your spending way down. With it also being your first visit and no language skills I'd be willing to wager that you will spend over 10,000 rbm in one month. However, lets be real, you want to enjoy, you want to travel about, you say you want a fun time, and you will be spending less than $1400 USD for a whole month. It would be difficult to travel for a whole month.
Take more time to view your LP and narrow down your focus as it is a very big country and one month will go faster than you think. The food varies from region to region, but the larger cities will usually have a representative restaurants for all of the country. Get out on the streets and in the narrow alleys at night and early in the morning for the best regional varieties of snacks and meals. |
