ITINERARY |
| Day
1. Arrive at Beijing |
| Our
guide will meet you at the airport and arrange transportation
to your hotel. |
| Day
2. Beijing |
| We
explore the Forbidden City of Beijing today as well as the
capital's massive Tiananmen Square. Later this afternoon,
we'll hear tales of Empress Dowager Cixi as we stroll through
her Summer Palace, China's best-preserved royal garden. Tonight
Peking Duck is on the menu, followed by a show of daring and
agile acrobatics.¡¡ |

3. Beijing |
| Walking
the Great Wall of China is a once-in-a-lifetime experience,
and this morning we head to the small town of Huanghua to
begin this incredible adventure. After a picnic lunch on the
Wall we return to Beijing via the equally impressive Ming
Tombs, and cruise canals in boats lit with traditional red
lanterns. We'll disembark in time to enjoy dinner with a local
family. |

4. Beijing/Xi'an |
| We
fly today to Xi'an, a former Chinese capital and important
stop on the Silk Road as early as the third century BC. Our
afternoon tour visits the Old City Wall and Shaanxi Provincial
Museum, whose Forest of Steles boasts over 1000 carved stone
tablets. Later, we'll take a gander at the Little Wild Goose
Pagoda, a place of magic healing. |
| Day
5. Xi'an |
| The
Terra Cotta Soldiers of Xi'an are one of the most important
archaeological finds in the world, and we devote an entire
day to exploring the site and surrounding area. After lunch
with a noodle maker, we'll take a cable car ride over Huaqing
Hot Springs Park and visit Banpo, a 6000-year-old Neolithic
(and possibly matriarchal) village. |

6. Xi'an/Guilin |
| Visit
the ancient city walls and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. After
lunch, depart for a two-hour flight to Guilin, a city of surreal
beauty. |
| Day
7. Guilin |
| Travel
by deluxe motor coach through lush countryside surrounding
Guilin, where you will see bamboo, water chestnut, sugar cane
and rice fields. Arrive at a local village and embark on a
memorable Lijiang River cruise passing through scenic Yangshuo.
After visiting the local free market, return to Guilin and
explore Elephant Trunk Hill and Reed Flute Cave. |

8. Guilin/Guangzhou/Hong Kong |
| Morning
flight to Guangzhou and transfer by express train to exciting
Hong Kong. Upon arrival, check into the Regal Hotel. Spend
your first evening in Hong Kong exploring the sights and sounds
of this unique metropolis. |
| Day
10. Hong Kong |
| Enjoy
a half-day tour of the dynamic cityscape of Hong Kong Island.
Sightseeing includes the quaint footpaths of the Stanley Market,
fashionable Repulse Bay, and the historic fishing village
at Aberdeen. Next, ride to the summit of Victoria Peak and
revel in the stunning, panoramic vistas of Hong Kong and its
picturesque harbor. |

11. Hong Kong |
| The
entire day is free for exploring, shopping, or simply experiencing
Hong Kong on your own. An optional one day excursion to Macao
is also possible. |
| Day
12. Hong Kong/Guangzhou/Hangzhou |
| Embark
on a ferry ride to Guangzhou for a historic city tour. Take
an evening flight to Hangzhou. |
| Day
13. Hangzhou |
| A
morning cruise on West Lake reveals the ethereal beauty of
Hangzhou's willow draped islands, Then, travel by deluxe motor
coach into the nearby hills and visit the resplendent 4th
century Lingyin Monastery. Enjoy a farewell dinner in the
evening. |

14. Hangzhou/Shanghai |
| Depart
by train to the cosmopolitan metropolis of Shanghai. Upon
arrival, check into the Ocean Hotel. Visit the Bund, emporium-lined
Nanjing Road, the centuries old Yu Yuan Garden, the Jade Buddha
Temple and a Children's Palace. In the evening, attend the
famous Shanghai Acrobatic show. |

15. Departure from Shanghai. |
| After
a leisurely breakfast, you will have a free morning to relax
or take a final look at the city. Afternoon transfer to airport
for returning home with treasured memories of a unique China
experience. . |
