Taiyuan Hotel Information
Taiyuan, with its few sights and heavy pollution, is not the best place for those who wish to stay either in style or in pocket. The best of these in town are just four star, while the cheapest are not normally allowed to accommodate foreigners (no license).
For budget travellers your best bet is to try around the railway station, where sometimes the hotels will accept you. Try the Tianhe Hotel (Tianhe dasha, Tel: 0351-4075054), just to the south of the railway station, along the road in front.
For mid-range hotels, the Binzhou Hotel is probably the best, standing out for providing good service. The Shanxi Hotel enjoys a good location with reasonable price. Both of these hotels are conveniently close to the central Wuyi Square (Wuyi guangchang).
For those on a top price budget, the Yingze Hotel would be the obvious choice, with its comfortable rooms and comprehensive facilities. The Shanxi Grand Hotel is of comparable standard, but a bit out of the city center. |
