Streams of tour groups and businessmen have developed the city into a place where accommodation ranges from budget to upmarket.
In recent years, several big hotels owned and managed by international chains are competing for customers in Shenyang, such as the Sheraton, the Marriott, the Crowne Plaza and the Holiday Inn. The top-end hotel is the five star Marriott Hotel (Tel: 024-23883456) on Qingnian Dajie. The luxurious hotel locates in the convenient downtown area and is only 15 minutes' ride to the Shenyang Airport. Alternative option is the Gloria Plaza Hotel (Tel: 024-22528855) on Yingbin Jie, just opposites the railway station.
Mid-level accommodation includes the European-style Liaoning Hotel (Tel: 024-7829166) on Zhongshan Lu, the Phoenix Hotel (Tel: 024-86805858) on Huanghe Nan Dajie and the Zhongshan Hotel (Tel: 024-23833888) on Zhongshan Lu. The tower of the Zhongxing Hotel (Tel: 024-23838888) on Taiyuan Jie has by far the best offer in the downtown area.
The cheapest bed (RMB20-200) is most likely to be found around the north railway station. There are the Railway Hotel (Tel: 024-22522888) and the Youzheng Dasha Hotel (Tel: 024-22528717) on the list. Another place to unload your luggage is the Dongfang Hotel (Tel: 024-22527388) to the east of the station on Beizhan Lu.
