Although a fairly large city, and one of the most important for transportation routes in this part of northeastern China, Changchun has not got the most impressive of hotels in its environs. When selecting a hotel your best bet is to be situated on or near the northern section of Renmin Dajie, the commercial center, near to the railway station. Having said this, there are some good options that can be had further afield, good for their scenic value.

Of the top range hotels, best by far is the Shangri-la Hotel, where location, service and rooms are of international standard. The Noble Hotel is also well located and worth trying for those who are unable to get into the Shangri-la. Good for its historical background and some of the best views in Changchun is the Swiss Belhotel.

Mid range options are many. For location and comfort try the International Trade Hotel, for scenery the Changbaishan Hotel, just off Nanhu Park, is hard to beat.

For the budget traveler the best hotels to check out are the ones around the railway station. Most of these can offer dorms or cheap doubles/triples for cheap prices. The Rail Station Hotel is especially good.
