The first thing that hits most visitors to Shuoduhai Lake, is the sheer beauty of the spot. The lake is known for its clear water, and the peaceful environment of the area around here. As the source of the Shuoduogang River, the lake is 3705m above sea level and covers an area of 15 square kilometers. The lake abounds in unique species of fish, with double lips and a golden color. Bordering the lake is one of the best grazing fields in Zhongdian. Every spring and summer, herds of cattle and flocks of sheep can be seen grazing here. To the east of the lake are white birch woods which in spring and summer are jade green while in late autumn the leaves turn gold. In the untouched woods, wildlife such as bear, musk dear, lynx and leopard all live.

How to get Shuoduhai Lake: To get to the picturesque lake, the best way is going there with hired transportation, it is possible to arrange Bitahai and Shuoduhai into a one day tour with a hired taxi from Zhongdian. It takes around RMB400 to hire a taxi for such a trip.It is also possible to go there with the package one day tour available from the travel agencies in Zhongdian.One day tours to Shuoduhai costs RMB130,including bus fare, admission and lunch.
